Advantages of Fast Recovery Variant for T2-Weighted Fast Spin-Echo Imaging of the Brain
نویسندگان
چکیده
Purpose Fast recovery fast spin-echo (FRFSE) is a new pulse sequence using a driven equilibrium pulse to convert residual transverse magnetization into longitudinal magnetization and has demonstrated improvements in T2-weighted imaging for the spine (1) and the temporal bone (2) predominately related to improvements in fluid contrast. Its possible value for brain imaging has not been tested and the purpose of this study is to perform a quantitative comparison of FRFSE against standard FSE in brain scans of normal volunteers.

Comparison the Accuracy of Fetal Brain Extraction from T2-Half-Fourier Acquisition Single-Shot Turbo Spin-Echo (HASTE) MR Image with T2-True Fast Imaging with Steady State Free Precession (TRUFI) MR Image by Level Set Algorithm
Background Access to appropriate images of fetal brain can greatly assist to diagnose of probable abnormalities. The aim of this study was to compare the suitability of T2-True Fast Imaging with Steady State Free Precession (T2-TRUFI), and T2-Half-Fourier Acquisition Single-Shot Turbo Spin-Echo (T2- HASTE( magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to extract the fetal brain using the level set algorithm...

PURPOSE To compare the value of fast fluid-attenuated inversion-recovery (FLAIR) with T2-weighted fast spin-echo MR imaging in the detection of acquired immunodeficiency virus (AIDS)-related lesions of the brain. METHODS Forty-four human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-positive patients were examined with both sequences on either a 1.0-T or a 1.5-T MR system. The number, size, location, and cons...
متن کاملComparison of Fast Recovery Fast Spin Echo and Conventional Fast Spin Echo for T2 Weighted Imaging of the Prostate Gland
Introduction The FRFSE sequence is a modification to the standard FSE sequence in which additional RF pulses are used to accelerate recovery of longitudinal magnetization after the echo train is acquired. The sequence can provide enhanced fluid signal in the setting of short TR for joint imaging. We compared this sequence to standard FSE using a long TR for axial endorectal coil T2 weighted ima...

PURPOSE To compare six MR sequences (plain and gadolinium-enhanced fat suppressed T1-weighted spin echo, T2-weighted standard spin echo, fat-suppressed and non-fat-suppressed T2-weighted fast spin echo, and inversion-recovery T2-weighted fast spin echo) in their ability to detect, delineate, and characterize lesions of the parotid gland. METHODS Fifty-eight parotid gland lesions imaged on 47 ...
متن کاملMost commonly used sequences and clinical protocols for brain and spine magnetic resonance imaging allowing better identification of pathological changes in dogs.
Magnetic resonance imaging is the best imaging modality for the brain and spine. Quality of the received images depends on many technical factors. The most significant factors are: positioning the patient, proper coil selection, selection of appropriate sequences and image planes. The present contrast between different tissues provides an opportunity to diagnose various lesions. In many clinics...
